Is there a faster lens i can buy for my Nikon d40x?

Currently i have a nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom lens. Can i buy a faster lense or is the speed based on the body?
I probably didn't make this clear. But what i mean is that i want a lense that can auto focus faster than what i have now.

How to clean sticky digital camera lens?

So someone I know accidentally knocked some Coke onto my nikon L2 last thanksgiving and as such left me with a sticky lens and shutter doors. There is a faint spot in the lcd but other than that everything seems to work fine. Would I ruin the lens if I cleaned it with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol or do you have any suggestions on what to clean the sticky shutter doors with?

How do I get the Nikon D50 to display the current focal distance, as there’s no window on the kit lens?

The 18-55 kit lens that comes with the camera does not display my current focal distance/depth of field on the lens. I'd like to know this without having to step up to a 0 lens. Any way to get the body to show me this, since according to nikon the lens communicates the current distance to the body?
